This policy explains what personal information surpassingmyself.com (the “Site”) collects, why, and how it is protected. The Site is operated by Stéphane Trottier, a licensed mortgage agent with Breezeful, Inc. I follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and my brokerage’s privacy policy, available at https://breezeful.com/privacy-policy.
What I collect

Please don’t send detailed financial information through the booking form or blog comments. I’ll provide a secure way to share documents if we work together.
How I use your information
I use your information only for the purpose you gave it: to schedule calls, answer questions, provide mortgage services you request, and improve the Site. I do not sell or rent personal information.
Who I share it with
- Breezeful, Inc., which supervises my mortgage work and keeps required records.
- Lenders, insurers and credit bureaus, only when you ask me to arrange a mortgage and give your consent.
- Service providers that help run the Site and my business, such as Calendly, my email provider, website hosting, Google Analytics and the WordPress spam filter. They may only use your information to provide their service.
- Authorities, where the law requires it, for example under anti-money-laundering rules.
Some service providers store information outside Canada, for example in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law.
Consent
By booking a call, contacting me or commenting, you consent to the uses described above. For mortgage applications, I will ask for your consent separately before collecting or sharing financial information or pulling your credit. You can withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contract limits; I’ll explain what that means for any services in progress.
Cookies and analytics
The Site uses cookies to remember comment details, keep logged-in users signed in, and measure visits through Google Analytics. Analytics data is used in summary form to see which articles are read. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on.
The Site may show ads from third-party advertising companies, which may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites.
How long I keep it
- Mortgage files: as long as Breezeful Inc and Ontario law require, this includes Discovery call and contact details, etc.
- Blog comments: as long as the comment is published.
How I protect it
I use password-protected accounts, two-step verification where available, and secure document sharing for financial information. Access is limited to me and my brokerage as needed.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted where the law allows. Contact me and I’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied, you can contact Breezeful at tel:1-800-896-1047 or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
Breezeful pursues mortgage brokering services in Ontario (13470), British Columbia (MB601942), New Brunswick (230013022), Nova Scotia (2024-3000472), Alberta (00538576), Saskatchewan (512751) and Manitoba (registered under The Mortgage Brokers Act (Manitoba)).
For all other provinces, Breezeful refers out to its co-broker partners.
